John Douglas McKinney, 66, widower of Airzela Rose McKinney, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was born August 13, 1952 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late William Harvey and Rosie Laws McKinney. He loved going to the flea market as a past time, and John also loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his sons, Alvin (Heather) Holder of Owen County, and John D. (Patricia) McKinney of Georgetown, his daughter, Rose Marie (Greg) Laswell of Nicholasville, grandchildren, Jaxon Holder, Aiden Holder, Whitney King, Little Willey, Stacey, Justin, Brittany, Blake, and Savanna, and one great grandchild, Zoey McKinney. John is also survived by his siblings, Freda Sparks, Howard Lamb, Raymond Rogers, Gene Rogers, and Lucy Martin. John is preceded in death by a brother, Bill McKinney.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home. Services will be Monday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bobby Sageser officiating.
