Bobby Ray Mauzy, 81, of Holts Summit, Missouri passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. Bobby was born February 25, 1936, the youngest of 13, in Watkins Township, Missouri, to Edgar Mauzy and Verna Mushrush Mauzy, who preceded him in death.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Green on February 22, 1963 in Cahokia, Illinois and she survives.

Bobby served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal while stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Following this assignment, he worked for over 30 years in the HVAC field with his last employment before retirement being Missouri State Penitentiary.

He was a member of Harvest Time Ministries in Holts Summit where he enjoyed gospel music and served as a part of the music ministry. He and his wife, Marilyn also volunteered at the community food pantry for several years. Bobby enjoyed his hobby farm, being in the outdoors, and traveling with his family in their RV. He was very talented at writing and telling stories and he greatly enjoyed having an audience, the bigger the better. Bobby will always be remembered and respected for choosing to move into Jefferson City Manor with his wife Marilyn, so they could remain by each other's side, for nearly 55 years.

Survivors also include his son, Duane (Bev) Mauzy of Holts Summit; daughters, Kimberly (Charles) Huse of Dallas, Texas, and Christina Tucker of Springfield, Missouri; sisters, Erma Dean and Pearl; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Ralph Mauzy; brothers, Roy, Jim, George, Lloyd, Hutch; and sisters, Hazel, Lois, Alice and Bessie.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Jacksonville Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
