"Mother" Josselyn Dead.
After an illness of many weeks of complications incident to old age, Mrs. George Josselyn died Friday afternoon at 3:40 o'clock at the home of her son, H.S. Josselyn, 843 Fourth avenue, at the age of 81 years. The funeral will be held some time Monday afternoon, the exact hour not yet having been settled upon.
Ann Bryan Broadwell was born at Dayton, Ohio, Nov. 23, 1819. She was married to George Josselyn in 1842. They continued to live in Dayton until 1855, when they came to Iowa, settling first in Mt. Pleasant. In 1866 they removed to Independence and in 1885 they came to Cedar Rapids. Mr. Josselyn died about two years ago.
"Mother" Josselyn, as she was familiarly known, was a grand old lady, esteemed and respected by all who knew her. She was a consistent Christian lady and her Christianity was many times manifested in a manner that won for her the admiration of her acquaintances.
But one son, H.S. Josselyn, of the first Josselyn & Taylor, survives.
