Shirline Ann Lyons, age 78, passed away January 4, 2018 in Muskogee, OK. Shirline was born October 28, 1939 to Max and Marie Goddard in Imperial, Nebraska. Shortly after graduating High School in Champion, Nebraska Shirline joined the United States Army in 1957 to serve her country through 1959. In 1963 Shirline and her family moved to Oklahoma.
Shirline enjoyed fishing, sewing, quilting, gardening and watching her hummingbirds. Above all, Shirline loved being mother to her six children, and spending time with them and her grandchildren. She always enjoyed watching her grandkids rodeo in her later years and loved coloring in her many coloring books.
Shirline was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Marie Goddard; two brothers, Robert Goddard and Vaughan Goddard; two sisters, Jo Goddard and Linda Goddard; and son, Richard Lyons. Shirline is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Lyons. Prior to her marriage to William, Shirline was married to Charles Barnard and had two children, Vince and Donita in 1962. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, three sons, Vince Barnard and wife Diane of Yukon, OK; Trevor Lyons and wife Penny of Muskogee, OK; and Tracy Lyons and wife Calee of Guthrie, OK; daughter, Donita Coyle and husband Rodney of Guthrie; 5 siblings; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside Services were held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 8, 2018 at Bennett Cemetery in Warner, OK under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home.
