Jean Lewis Price Coors died at home on January 3, 2018. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Meriwether Lewis and the wife of the late Thomas Russell Price and the late Dr. George Alcorn Coors. She is survived by her daughters, Page Price Henrion (Walt), Ruth Price Bowlin (Casey) and Russell Price Whitehead (Cary). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, David Bowlin, Philip Lewis, Bliss Campbell, Tully Phillips, Woodson Whitehead, Jeanne Forsyth and her eleven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Coors was an incredible supporter in word and deed for the Memphis institutions she loved. She served on the boards of the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, the Hamilton Eye Institute (930 Friends) and the Memphis Garden Club, which honored her with the Margaret Oates Dixon Award, the Norfleet Trophy and the Louisa R. Morrow Trophy. Mrs. Coors was the past president of the Children’s Foundation of Memphis. She was also a former board member of the Memphis Junior League, the Memphis College of Art and Kenmore in Fredericksburg, VA. She was a graduate of the Hutchison School and Bennett College of Millbrook, NY. She was a member of Saint John’s Episcopal Church, the Memphis Country Club and the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club. Mrs. Coors’s passion in life was entertaining and being with her friends. The memorial service will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 5th at Saint John’s Episcopal Church, with a reception following in the Parish hall. Private burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Dixon Gallery and Gardens (4339 Park Avenue, Memphis, TN 38117) and the Hamilton Eye Institute, in care of Dr. James Fleming (930 Madison Avenue, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38103).
