Maudine was born September 28, 1938 in Washington County, Oklahoma to Harold Buoy and Stella Johnson Buoy. She was raised and received her education in Oglesby, Oklahoma. She then met and married Joe Richard Hindman, who soon became a "Sr" after the birth of their first son, Joe Richard Hindman Jr., later to be called Punkin.
