Anna E. Cocker, 81, of Scranton, died Thursday afternoon at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton.

Born in Bovina, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda Lewis Pringle. Before retirement, she worked in the garment industry as a sewing machine operator for Mallard Sportswear, where she was known for her excellent quality of work.

She enjoyed reading and watching movies, but she took the greatest pleasure in spending time with her family. She was always ready to take care of everyone. She was a mother, a best friend, a confidant and a strong shoulder to lean on. Most of all, she was an angel.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Cocker and his wife, Donna; and Patrick Cocker; a daughter, Kelly Ross; three brothers, Harold Sherman, Raymond Pringle and George Pringle; six grandchildren, Zabrina Cocker, James Skaluba, Kelly Butler, Collin Kulick, Athanasia Macialek, Devon Wagner; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tambra Kulick; three brothers, David and John Pringle and Alfred Sherman.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in Abington Hills Cemetery.
