Although he said he was born in 1872, Glen did not appear in primary records until 1903.
Glen's wife, Effie Winebrenner, and children never met his parents or siblings.
For years family members searched for Glen's roots. Thanks to Ancestry DNA, we found a match and discovered his name was not Glen Christian. Instead he was born George W. Redgate in Saline County, Nebraska, son of Thomas and Mary Welch Redgate. George made bad decisions when he was young and ended up in jail. In 1902 he disappeared from primary records and from Kansas.
George reinvented himself as Glen Christian, married Effie Winebrenner had seven children. He lived the rest of his life in Iowa.
