Henderson, TN: Curtiss Ray Lynch, age 83 passed away Friday morning, January 12, 2018 at his home.

He was born October 21, 1934 in Henderson, the son of the late Doyle Gross and Ora Earle Kennedy Lynch. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1953. He entered the Air Force and was discharged after an automobile accident. He worked as a salesman for Ray-O-Vac in Miami before moving to Henderson in 1968. He worked for Jim Walter Homes and then started his own home construction, Catalina Homes, and also owned and operated Catalina Realty. He married Laverne Price in 1987 and they made their home at Deanburg before moving to West Main.

He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was active in Bethel Baptist Church, serving on many committees. He and Laverne were involved in the Deanburg Community Center and he was a writer for the Chester County Independent writing the Deanburg column.

After his service in the Air Force he served in the Tennessee National Guard until full retirement. He was an avid helicopter pilot with the Smyrna Air Guard, flying the Cobra, and the Huey, and also flew his own Cessna 152.

Mr. Lynch is survived by his wife, Laverne Massey Price Lynch of Henderson; a stepson, Kenneth Price, Jr. and wife Lynette of Henderson, a stepdaughter, Sherry Escue and husband Neal of Henderson; four step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren, one brother, Donnie Lynch of Henderson and two sisters, Diane Troutt of Huntingdon, and Elaine Kerley of Oakland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roy Lynch and a sister, Joyce Glover.

Funeral services along with Masonic services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 15, 2018 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue with David Tull officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
