Marvin Sayre, 79 years old, passed away January 8th, 2018 at Saint Luke's Hospice in Kansas City, Missouri.

Marvin was born at home on June 9th, 1938 on the kitchen table, to Vera (Callihan) and Glen Sayre. He attended elementary school at Sunny Ridge, where he was taught by his father, Glen. Marvin graduated from Milan High School in Milan, Missouri.

After high school, Marvin married Judith Higgins of Green City, Missouri. They had 3 children: Lori (Sayre) Zuppa, Mark Sayre and Terry Glen Sayre.
Soon after graduation, Marvin and his brother, Harvey, started "Sayre Brothers Sinclair Service Station" in Green City, Missouri. Marvin went on to drive a truck for several years while working for Borron Elevator in Winigan, Missouri.

After several years with Borron Elevator, Marvin split his time between over-the-road truck driving for Roger Smiley, delivering liquid protein with his brother, Harvey, and managing the family farms with his brothers, Harvey and John.

Marvin was well known for his talent and passion for automobiles, trucks and his incredibly funny stories - quite the story teller! Marvin had a side-splitting 1-liner for almost every circumstance. What a sense of humor! Marvin was extremely proud of his full restoration of his 1970 Dodge Challenger. His talent earned him 2nd place in the 'World of Wheels' hot rod show as well as 2nd place in the 'Goodguys Nationals' hot rod show.

Last but most important to Marvin was his deep, unwavering love for his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Marvin was the hub of wisdom for our family, the guy to call when you needed somebody to listen, the expert for all vehicle repairs and the host of deer camp for 30+ years. Whether he knew you or not, you were always welcome at the farm. Half of Indiana, Minnesota, Kentucky, Nebraska and Missouri have been guests at the Sayre farm - a tradition and legacy of Marvin's love for family, fellowship and nature that will be carried on for generations.

Dad, Grandpa, Marv, Roadrunner, you will always be remembered and deeply missed.

Marvin is survived by 2 children: Lori (Sayre) Zuppa and husband James of Ooltewah, TN. Terry Sayre and wife Chandy of Freeman, MO. 4 grandchildren: Austin Sayre, Haley (Sayre) Aust, Nicholas Sayre and Michael Zuppa. His 3 siblings: Shirley DeSha of Milan, MO, John Sayre and wife Janet of Milan, MO and Harvey Sayre and wife Sue of Lebanon, MO.

Nieces: Lisa Mateu-O'Haver, Susan (Sayre) Proffitt (Chris), Jamie (Sayre) Garrison (Damon). Nephews: Bill DeSha and John Michael Sayre.
Vance Proffitt, Jayce Carbajal, Graeson, Mallix and Camilla. Dylan DeSha, Holley Schultz, Cynthia Davis, Michele O'Havor, Grant Garrison, Erin Garrison, Emma Davis, Ethan Davis, Sean Schultz, Theo Sizemore, Rob Sizemore, Mandy West, Sarah Dowel, Karah Shirley, Sabrina Hatter.
