Funeral for Katie Holmes, 79, of Old Salem was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 3 at Causey's E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial in Trout Creek Cemetery.
She died Friday, February 1, 1985 at Mixson Memorial Hospital in Kirbyville after an illness.
A native of Bancroft, La., she lived in the Old Salem Community 60 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Pinner of Kirbyville and Barbee Nichols of Old Salem; two sons, C. B. Holmes of Old Salem and Pet W. Holmes of Orange; a sister, Cassie Foxworth of Jasper; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
