Martha T. Horan entered into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at the Mercy Center in Dallas, one month short of her 97th birthday.
Born Feb. 2, 1921, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Valaria Olajasz Filip.
Martha attended St. Mary's Polish School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed by TELE Radio, Wilkes-Barre Twp., as a supervisor for 15 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and a former member of St. Joseph's Church Altar Society, Wilkes-Barre Twp.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Horan; sisters, Anna Elick, Mary Kachurak and Bernadine "Bernice" Sakaduski; and brothers, Michael and Stanley Filip.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Rosemarie T. Youkoski, Wilkes-Barre; and Martha Collum and her husband, Edward, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; grandchildren, Angela Lienhard and her husband, Clarence, Thomas Youkoski and his wife, Ruth, Rebecca Monahan and her husband, William, Cynthia Bozek, Edward Collum and Kathleen Jones and her husband, Dylan; and great-grandchildren, Samantha Lienhard, Jenna Youkoski, Billy and Ryan Monahan, Raymond Bozek, Victoia Collum and Sophia Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Parish, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Duane Gavitt, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
