EARL EUGENE THIEMS
February 18, 1929 ~ January 6, 2018

Earl Eugene Thiems, 88, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at First Shamrock Care Center in Kingfisher,OK.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. , Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at the Dover Christian Church in Dover, OK.

Interment will follow at the Dover Cemetery with Pastor Fred Jones officiating. Services are conducted by Sanders Funeral Service.

Earl Thiems was born Monday, February 18, 1929, at the “John Sing place” farm SW of Okarche to Henry William and Rosella Reimers ­ Thiems. He attended Corner Door school NW of Okarche, OK.

He married Bernadine June Lagaly on November 8, 1953 in St. Joseph Catholic Church El Reno, OK.

Earl was drafted into the Army and served from 1955- 1956 and was stationed at Fort Chaffee in Ft. Smith, AR and Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX.

Earl rode in to Dover, OK on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the early-50’s and eventually settled NE of Dover. Earl served on the Dover Fire Department.

He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and loved the cattle business. He was also a member of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission and enjoyed watching his horses race.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Bernadine; a daughter, Charlotte Ann; 3 brothers, Charlie, John, and Les; a sister, Gertrude; a grandson, Billy Brown, Jr.; and 2 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by brothers Oscar ­ Thiems of Kingfisher, OK, Henry ­ Thiems of Yukon, OK; sisters Opal Leech of Kingfisher, OK, Ruby Hill of Fritch, TX; son Kenneth ­ Thiems, Dover, OK; son Edward ­ Thiems, Kingfisher, OK; daughter Rita Brown and husband Billy of Dover, OK; son Wayne ­ Thiems and wife Kanae of Dover, OK; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Dover Fire Department.
