KIRBYVILLE—A graveside service for Leo Burks, 76, of Kirbyville will be at 3 p.m. today at Trout Creek cemetery near Kirbyville under the direction of Causey's E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.
He died Tuesday at Kirbyville Community Hospital.
A native of Merryville, La. and a former resident of Beaumont, he lived in Kirbyville a number of years and was a retired roughneck in the oil industry.
Survivors include his wife, Allie Burks of Kirbyville; a son, Bill Burks of Jasper; two stepsons, Adam Clark of Fresno, Calif., and Johnnie Clark of Houston; two daughters, Dorothy McCoy of Houston and Murline Mayes of Waskom, Texas; five stepdaughters, Earline Lecourias of Huntsville, Mildred Urrey of Beaumont, Lois Adams of Weatherford, Okla., Dorothy Parker of Carlsbad, N.M., and Jewel Neugent of Douglas, Texas; three brothers, Luther Burks of Kirbyville, R. C. Burks of Merryville, La., and Kinnis Burks of Beaumont; a sister, Adell Nobles of Kirbyville; and 14 grandchildren.
