Bernice H. Ihnat of Wilkes-Barre Twp. passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

Born Nov. 22, 1930, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Drobish.

Bernice attended Wilkes-Barre Twp. High School, and was employed by SILCO Industries, Wilkes-Barre Twp., and recently retired in July 2017 from the Wilkes-Barre Twp. Municipal Building, after 20 years.

She was a devoted Roman Catholic, a former member of St. Joseph's Monastery, Wilkes-Barre Twp. and, after consolidation, a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

Bernice loved weekly Mass, bingo, Night at the Races and watching nightly cooking shows with her daughter. She took great pride in keeping up her own home, and she will be greatly missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Ihnat, in 2008; daughter-in-law, Linda Gulczynski Ihnat; great-granddaughter, Asia Ihnat; brothers, Frank, Joseph and Anthony Drobish; and sisters, Helen Musyt, Mary Bartlomowicz, Martha Shubilla, Lottie Schlereth, Gloria Mizak and Jean Tyson.

Surviving are her son, Stephen (Darla) Ihnat, Lancaster; daughter, Bernice (Bill) Casterline, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; grandchildren, Bill (Jen) Casterline, Michael (Rebecca) Casterline, Stephen (Gayle) Ihnat, Mount Joy; and Rebecca (Joe) Yancoskie, Ephrata; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Dane, Hudson, Micah and Milah Ihnat, Leo, Sophia and Addison Yancoskie, Alexis, Evan, Alyssa and Aubree Casterline and Emely and Elly Casterline; and brother, Leo Drobish, Levittown.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. John S. Terry, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
