Gladys was born July 18 1928 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Arden and Birdie (Harris) Pearl. Before becoming a devoted homemaker she worked at St. Mary’s and the White Peak Restaurant. Gladys was a longtime member of the Gospel Chapel and avid reader of the bible. She married Robert F. Heil. He preceded her in death.
Gladys leaves behind her children Cynthia (Mike) Hunter, Dennis (Debra) Heil Sr., David Heil Sr., and Michael (Traci) Heil, sister Helen Walley, grandchildren Michael Cox, Dennis Heil Jr., Denise Heil, David Heil Jr., Robert Heil, Shon Heil, Haley Heil, Bryan Kirby, Kim Skunberg, Leslie Strohl, Angie Hilligoss, and Catherine Botzum, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gladys was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, brothers Gayle, John Jim, and Bill, sisters Jeanette, Velma, Irene, Ann, and Betty, son Robert Conant, and grandson Matthew Cox.
Services to celebrate Gladys’ life will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 11, 2018 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Gospel Chapel.
