Amelia Susie Kunnecke, 77, of Jeffersonville, passed away on January 6, 2018.
She was born in Warrick County, Indiana and moved around the country with her family as her children grew.
She believed in taking the time to do things right, as shown in each of her cross stitch pieces, quilts, and crochet works. In her work life, she held many positions; from working with the U.S. Census Bureau to American Express. The sounds of country music (and Elvis!) filled the house on weekends, and she cherished visiting with friends and sharing stories. Wading in the creek with her family was a favorite pastime; jeans rolled up, watching children splash. While living in Arizona, she cherished her day trips to gamble in Laughlin, NV, and (almost) always came back a winner. She loved fried green tomatoes, a good burger, and cheddar biscuits from Red Lobster. The scent of Chanel No. 5 or Jasmine flowers will always remind us of her love.
Of course as with any life, she faced challenges. Despite the odds she kept a brave face and in her own special way wanted others to feel safe. In her later years she loved the visits from her family, friends, and grandchildren, and their company gave her comfort.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Blair and Georgia Meyer; and brother, Ervia Blair.
She is survived by her children, Karin Ceralde (Al), Karla Mills, and Kyle Kunnecke; brother, George Blair; grandchildren, Hunter, Arabella, Archer and Amelia Brooke; and faithful companion, Rosie.
