Charlie Raymond (Tex) Fields, age 78, of Vinton, died Sunday in a local hospital. He was a retired salesman from Valleydale, a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and an Army Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Scott Fields. Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Alice Filger of Liberty, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 1991, at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. George Wesley Jones officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church or the Vinton Rescue Squad. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
