MRS. SUSAN GARRETT DIES AT INDIANAPOLIS
Body Will Be Brought to Franklin For Burial Wednesday Afternoon.

Burial services will be held in Greenlawn cemetery about 2:30 Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Susan Hannah Garrett, age 74, a former well-known resident of Franklin who died early Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Donald H. Campbell, Indianapolis….body will be brought to Franklin for burial.
Mrs. Garett had been ill but a short time, suffering pneumonia and her friends here had not known of her illness. Mrs. Garrett was born in Franklin and her succeeding life had been spent here. Twenty years ago, following her separation from her husband, William Garrett, Mrs. Garrett had gone to Indianapolis and had made her home with a son, Donald H. Hill, who died several years ago. Mrs. Garrett had been married twice, her first husband being Carmen Hill. [sic-Robert]
Surviving her death are the daughter-in-law, Mrs. Campbell, a grandson, Robert K. Hill, both of Indianapolis, and several more distant relatives. Mrs. Garrett was a member of the Franklin Methodist church and had been a member of the Pocahontas lodge before its reorganization.

Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 37976 for Indianapolis Marion County records that Susan Garrett, a 74 year 8 month and 8 day old widowed white female died at 1:20 am on December 17, 1928 at 1451 Hoyt Ave. in Indianapolis. The cause of death was "Lobar Pneumonia" with "Influenza" as the contributing cause. Spouse (deceased) William Garrett. Parents - Simeon Johnson, and Delilah Merritt, both born in Otter Creek, Ripley County Indiana. Informant was Mrs. Campbell. Burial - Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin Johnson County.
