He was born April 15, 1938 in Surry County to Roby and Helen McCraw.
Otis was a retired Winston-Salem / Forsyth County School Teacher, where he taught elementary grades at Walkertown Elementary and Forest Park Elementary. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran; Past President of the Lion' s Club in Rural Hall; and past member of the Mt. Airy Jaycees.
Otis is preceded in death by his parents, Roby and Helen McCraw; a sister, Carol Bartley and one brother, William "Bill" McCraw.
He is survived by two brothers: Larry and Gary McCraw of High Point, two sons: Otis Blaine McCraw, II and wife, Leslie of Winston-Salem, and Leo Franklin McCraw of Mt. Airy; four daughters: Jackie McCraw Taylor and husband, Ralph of High Point, Donna McCraw Blevins of Mt. Airy, Amy McCraw Smith of Mt. Airy and Nadia McCraw of Cana, VA. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren: Michelle Taylor, Crystal McKee, April Jett, Brenda Blevins, Tania Blevins, Christopher Blevins, Otis Blaine "Trey" McCraw, III, Ashley McCraw, Brandon Tilley, Jerry Smith, Jessica Smith, Curtis Whitaker, Patton McCraw, Madison McCraw, Tommy Harrell, and Haley Harrell; and two great-grandchildren; Hunter McKee and McKenzie Jett.
"Our Dad meant so much to us, and he will be forever in our hearts no matter where we go."
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to be made to the American Heart and Lung Association. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home.
