Winifred Glaze Farris, age 98, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Vernon, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Lee Skelton and A.B.Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Henson Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Winifred was born August 12, 1917 in Tuscola, Texas to E.H. and Emma Smith Glaze. She marrried William Hal Farris on November 29, 1933 in Frederick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Wayne Farris and wife, Linda of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Terry Farris and Sandy Smith of Vernon, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Frith and husband, T.J. of Vernon, Texas; a sister, Hazel Lassiter of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandchildren, Byron Frith and wife, Diana of Lenexa, Ks, Travis Frith of Euless, Texas, Robert Farris and wife, Becky of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kelly Farris of Ft. Worth,Texas, Teri Denise Farris of Seymour, Texas, Jennifer Farris and Clint King of Seymour, Texas, and Jeff Farris of Amarillo, Texas; and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandson, Mason Goodwin; her sisters, Lois Ferrier, Vera Wirz, Martha Gentry, and Myrtle Perkins; and her brothers, D.D., Howard, Weldon and Dick Glaze.
Visitation 6 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
