Coroners' Inquest--An inquest was held yesterday evening at the Maryland ferry slip by coroner Beach, upon the body of a man found floating in the river on the Maryland flats opposite the Prince street wharf. The deceased was dressed in soldiers' clothes, and from papers found upon his body it is supposed that his name was David J. Duddey, and that he belonged to Company M, 4th U.S. Artillery, stationed a short time since at Fort Foote. A military pass dated November 24th, 1870, found upon him afforded the only clue to his identity, as the body was very much disfigured by fish bites and by prolonged immersion in water. In an inside pocket were found the photographs of two females. The jury, of which Mr. Orlando Wood was foreman, rendered a verdict of death from unknown causes. The body was buried in Penny Hill cemetery.
