HUME – Norma Christine Job, 93, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 4, 2018) at her home in Hume.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at the First Christian Church in Newman, with Pastor Justin Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery, north of Newman. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the church.
Norma was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Newman, the daughter of Marcus Gordon and Dorothy Ethel Mitchell Porter. She married Joseph Hamilton Job on Jan. 10, 1946, in the Newman Christian Church. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1993.
She is survived by her youngest daughter, Marilyn Christine Ross of Highland Ranch, Colo.; three grandchildren, Theodore Joseph Wegner, Kansas City, MO., Eric Thomas Abell of Austin, Texas, and Gretchen Christine Wegner Lynch (Jason) of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Mary Hill, Kaitlin Renee Hill, Ava Christine Lynch and William Joseph Lynch; three nephews; three nieces; and her son-in-law, Stephen Abell of Bellingham, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her eldest daughter, Nancy Jo Abell; older brother, Marcus Anthony Porter; younger sister, Helen Virginia Bundy; and son-in-law, Walter William (Bill) Ross III.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Arthritis Association or to the donor's choice.
