Jeromenina (Jerri) Hefner
December 23, 1923 - June 3, 2014

SALEM - Jeromenina (Jerri) Hefner was born December 26, 1923 to Philomena and Peter Munch in Schoenchen, Kansas. She died peacefully with family around her at the Edward F. Tokarski Hospice Home in Salem, Oregon of chronic respiratory disease and heart failure.

Jerri was WW II veteran and served her country at Fitzsimmons Veteran's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She lived for many years in the Hammond, Fort Stevens areas with her husband, Iduss (Shorty) Hefner. She worked at Columbia and St. Mary's Hospitals in the maternity departments as a Nurse's Aide helping deliver many precious babies into this world.

Jerri moved to the Salem area, when her husband died in 1971 and worked in a nursing home for a friend before opening up a home and taking care of the elder generation for the same friend until she retired.

She is survived by three daughters: Kathy (Dale) Salsberry of Astoria, Oregon, Barbara Dean (Gary) Graham of Loveland, Colorado; and Sherry (James) Lieker of Hays, Kansas; and an (adopted daughter), Louise Jones of Salem, Oregon. Three granddaughters; Amy (Allan) Martin of Pullman, WA., Mallisa Alcorn of Sheridan, Oregon and Danielle Alcorn of McMinnville, Oregon. Two grandsons, Christopher (Amy) Salsberry, of Fredericksburg VA., and Seth Alcorn of Sheridan, Oregon. 12 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerri was preceded in death by her son, Dan Alcorn.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the King Wood West Apartment Complex in the Community Hall as 1947 Salem Dallas Hwy N.W., Salem. Oregon 97304.

Remembrances can be made to the Edward F. Tokarski Hospice Home, 1020 Elm St, NW, Salem, Oregon 97304 in her memory. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
