RACINE - Robert A. 'Bob' Christensen, 70, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was born in Racine on September 10, 1947, the son of the late Ralph and Mathilda (nee: Lorenzen) Christensen. Bob was a graduate of Wm. Horlick High School, "class of 1965". On March 10, 1973, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Grabarec at St. Robert's Catholic Church in Union Grove. In the early 1970's, Bob served in the United States Air Force for four years, of which he was very proud. He served on the Union Grove Police Force for several years. He also worked for J.I. Case as a security guard, and finally as a 911 dispatcher for the Racine County Sheriff's office, retiring in September of 2009. In Bob's younger days, he was very active in softball and bowling. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing pool in various leagues. To say that Bob loved music is an understatement. He partnered with Ric Storbeck and started the DJ service, Scoopin-the-Loop. His passion was music from the 50's and 60's, and he sincerely enjoyed sharing it with everyone. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne, daughter, Teri (John) Stanley, son, Kevin (Melinda Manbeck) Christensen; and grandsons, Eli, Ethan, and Aiden. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers; Jack and Don; and sisters, Carol and Betty. Memorial services for Bob will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Bob will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
