Anne Beckstead

Anne Bennett Beckstead, 86, passed away in Preston, Idaho, on Dec. 26, 2017.

She was born June 14, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, to

Leland William Bennett

and Ada Leone Scoffield Bennett.

Anne spent her early years growing up on the Bennett farm in Kaysville, Utah.

When she was in the eighth grade, the family moved to a farm in Winder, Idaho.

She attended junior high and high school in Preston, Idaho.

She met her high school sweetheart, Linden Beckstead, during Seminary class at Preston High.

Linden and Anne were married Feb. 28, 1947.

They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on June 30, 1966.

They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last February.

Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She supported Linden in his various activities, whether it was farming, cattle buying, the auction, or the banking business.

She worked at the auction in the office for many years.

Early in their marriage, Anne served in the Primary presidency and later served as ward and stake Young Women president and ward Relief Society president.

She was a faithful servant in any calling she had in the church.

Lin and Anne served a mission in the Canada Halifax Nova Scotia Mission in 1993-94 and later served two missions in Salt Lake City on Temple Square, a short-term mission at the Hill Cumorah during the pageant in 2000, and a short-term mission on Temple Square during the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Together they served as ordinance workers in the Logan Temple for many years.

Anne was best known for the love and kindness she showed to everyone she met.

Her most important accomplishment has been the support and love she has given to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She has always been an example of a loving and caring grandmother and is loved by her entire extended family.

Anne is survived by her husband,

Linden, of Whitney, Idaho,

and children

Sid (Pat) Beckstead, Bountiful, Utah;

Kelly (Linda) Beckstead, Idaho Falls,

Idaho; Scott (Kristen) Beckstead, Preston, Idaho;

Jill (Robert) Ferguson, Kaysville, Utah;

and Jan (Scott) Brenchley, Pocatello, Idaho.

She is also survived by

25 grandchildren

and 69 great-grandchildren,

all of whom she loved dearly.

She is also survived by a sister, Kaye (Ned) Klitgaard, of Woods Cross, Utah;

and two brothers, Richard (Gail) Bennett, of Farmington, Utah; and Bill (Paulette) Bennett, of South Ogden, Utah.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Leone Bennett.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at noon in the Whitney Ward chapel.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 8th East, Preston, Idaho, and Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Beckstead, Home Health nurses Kathleen, Diane and Kim, and the staff at the Franklin County Medical Center for their kind and tender care of Anne.
