HARTFORD CITY – Mark Allen Lake, 69, passed away on January 2, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Hartford City on January 11, 1948 to Glen Dale Lake and Alma Ruth (Needler) Lake. Both parents preceded him in death.
Mark graduated from Hartford City High School in 1966 and graduated from Tucker Vocational School. He served in the United States Army from August 15, 1966 until June 22, 1968. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter M-14, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal and M-14 Expert.
He married Elizabeth Jane (Enyeart) on November 22, 1968 at the Hartford City Wesleyan Church. She passed away on December 3, 2017.
Mark retired from VA NIHCS (Marion VA) as an LPN in February 2011.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Jean Elizabeth (husband, Russ) Bennett of Hartford City; Wendy Jane (husband, Chad) Cooper of Lafayette, LA; Sara Ruth Reese of Eaton; grandchildren, Dylan Whittemore, Shania Whittemore, Anthony Strait, Alyssa Fraze, Storm Fraze, Whitney Reese and Mary Reese; sister, Mary D. Moore of Clunette, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Glen Lake.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday January 8, 2018 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 North High Street, Hartford City, IN with Rev. Tom Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday January 8, 2018 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
