Mr. Kief was born Sept. 12, 1950 in Urbana, a son of Lyle and Jean (Milligan) Kief. He is survived by one brother, Stan (Kellie) Kief of Roberts; two sisters, Peggy (Rick) Johannsen of Pekin and Julie Kief of Erie, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Doug.
David enjoyed attending auctions and lawn mowing. He was a Vietnam veteran and received many commendation medals - The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 DVC, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Two overseas Bars, Marksman (M-16 Rifle) and 1st Class Gunner (M-60 Machine Gun).
