It is unknown how Mary met Abram, but Mary, age 33, married 3 time widower 1909, Abraham Croft, age 72, living at his 311 S. Cherry St home , he a wealthy land owner of 1200 acres. Abraham's previous 3 wives had died of childbirth and one after an operation. They had no children, he died 10 years later in 1919, leaving her most of his estate, selling some of his land a couple of years before his death and leaving $52,000 to family and friends.
Mary inherited most of Abraham's land west of Paxton, sections 7, 11, 12,13,14, 15 (twsp 23), remarried widower Judge Malcolm McQuistion 1929 (who had been the judge involved in probating Abraham's vast Will, he became a widower about 6 years later), and continued living in Abraham's mansion, which became known as "the McQuistion mansion" by town folk even in year 2000 when I came to research my ggg uncle. Malcolm died 1940 and is buried with his first wife, Mary died 1961 and is buried with Abraham.
Sadly, Abram's home became known in Paxton as the McQuiston mansion just because Mary had remarried to him, even though they were only married 9 years when he died!
She was survived by 3 sisters: Mrs. Clara Beach, Aroma Park Illinois, Mrs. Bessie McKnight, Alexis, Mrs. Lizzie Davidson, LaGrange, Illinois, two brothers: Henry Dancaster, Okawatomie Kansas, and Frank, of Topeka Kansas,
