Anna's parents, James Boteler & Anna Maria Wood arrived at Hobart Town, Van Dieman's Land in 1824 with Anna and her two siblings.
She married Hugh Ross in Hobart Town, Tasmania, (Van Diemens Land) 23 July 1829 as his 2nd wife.
Hugh's first wife Sarah Cantrill White died in Macquarie St., Hobart in June 1825 aged 26 and left 4 small children (the youngest was 9 days old). Anna & Hugh had four sons..

* 1838 - 1868 Frederick James Ross Captain of the NZ Armed Constabulary who was killed whilst defending the Tura-Tura-Mokai Redoubt in Patea district, with Von Tempskey
