CATHERINE VANDIVER PINSON
Catherine Vandiver Pinson was born in Ste. Genevieve County on April 15, 1836, and died December 10, 1925, aged 89 years, 7 months and 25 days.
She was reared and spent practically all of her life in St. Francois County. She was united in marriage to Frank Pinson December 20th and to this union 11 children were born, only two surviving, Mrs. Effie Glore of Flat River and Wilburn Pinson of Kansas City. She also leaves one brother and two sisters, John Vandiver of Flat River, Mrs. Lulu Dace of Newburg, Mo., and Mrs. Mattie Hawks of Maylor, Mo., and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
She professed faith in Christ a number of years ago and was at one time a member of the local Baptist Church. It was her one desire to live a consistent Christian life at all times and faithful to her church membership wherever she lived. Up until Thanksgiving 1924, she made her home in and around Bonne Terre, when she moved to Kansas City to be with her son, where she passed away. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 1:15 and burial took place in the Germania cemetery.
