Son of John M. & Comfort Ann Orrel Foster, born in the family house beside Reeds Baptist Church that his father built in the early 1880's, spent his lifetime there, having bought the house and farm of 35 1/2 acres from his father. In 1909 he married Bertie Myers, daughter of Albert Lindsay & Sarah Parks Myers. They had 6 children: Loyd Tilman, Sallie Lee, Earlie Thomas, Leona, Laura Mae and Thurman Wilson.
Charles was a farmer and skilled carpenter. He built many of the homes in Reeds, Tyro and surrounding areas, and many homes and commercial buildings in Lexington.
They were lifelong members of the Reeds Baptist Church where Charles served as a Deacon.
