Killed while driving. Newman "Buddy" Baird, was killed June 30, 2001, while delivering pizzas when a woman driving at a high rate of speed hit his vehicle.

Rockledge-Newman "Buddy" Baird, 36, died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. "Buddy" was born in Springfield, Pa. He came to Brevard County in 1972 from Greenridge, Pa. He was a graduate of Rockledge High School. Mr Baird is survived by his wife Kathleen M. Rogers Baird; sons, Brian Baird and Newman M. Baird III; parents Alec and Rosalie Baird; and brother, Alexander Roman Baird. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Wylie-Baxley Rockledge Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Wylie-Baxley Rockledge Chapel. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.
