Patrick later remarried to Essie Jones, the daughter of John Ellis and Ella (Wagner) Jones.
In October of 1919, they gave birth to their only child, Joseph H. Kelly, while residing in Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska.
The Kelly's would soon move to Tulare, California. By 1930, however, Patrick had relocated and was living alone in Sacramento, California, where he would remain until his passing in 1941.
