Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville for John Leaton Chautin, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Opelousas General Hospital.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church from 8:00 am until time of service.

A rosary will be prayed by Rev. Ken Domingue at 10:30 am on Thursday.

Rev. Ken Domingue will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Bryant Savoy and Racheal Chautin. Gift bearers will be Lindsay Myers and Lauren Hardy.

Interment will follow at St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville.

He is survived by his son, Dale B. Chautin and wife Delaine of Arnaudville; his daughter, Neysa Savoy and husband Robert of Arnaudville; his grandchildren, Brady Chautin and spouse Racheal, Lindsay Myers and spouse Lance, Lauren Hardy and spouse Josh, Bryant Savoy; his great-grandchildren, Daniel Chautin, Camille Chautin, William Chautin, Bennett Myers, Madeline Myers, and Annalyse Hardy; and his sister, Laura Marks of Leonville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Chautin; and his son, David B. Chautin; his parents, Alexander and Regina Chautin; his brother, Alex Chautin; and his sister, Marie Cecil Allen.

Pallbearers will be Brady Chautin, Bryant Savoy, Lance Myers, Robert Savoy, Wayne Chautin, and Josh Hardy.

Pellerin Funeral Home, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
