Dorothy "Dot" Wade, age 85, of Lula, GA passed away Friday, December 22, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Lula, GA and the first charter member listed on the membership roll at Liberty Baptist Church in Lula. She worked as a hotel manager for various hotels in Helen, GA, and loved gospel music. Dot was a very generous person, and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Nell Poole Abernathy; husband, J.W. Wade; and sister, JoAnn Sullens. Dot is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Malinda and Tony Driskell Sr., Gainesville, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Rev. James B. Hatcher, Lula, GA; Elaine and Rev. Kenneth Barrett, Gillsville, GA; and Peggy and Royce Head, Lula, GA. 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.
Rev. James B. Hatcher will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Lula, GA.
