Hannah was the daughter of Stephen Swett 1620-1693 and Hannah Merrill 1622-1662. She married Sgt. John Badger, as his second wife, in 1671, and they had 10 children together: Steven b. 1671; Hannah b. 1673; Nathaniel b. 1675; Mary b. 1678; Elizabeth b. 1680; Ruth b. 1683; Joseph b. 1684; Daniel b. 1685; Abigail b. 1687; and Lydia b. 1690. Hannah and her husband, John, both died the same day, March 31, 1691, during a smallpox epidemic in Newbury and left the 10 children, ranging in age from 1 to 20, behind.
