Thomas drew Wethersfield lands in the 1694 allotment and was town excise collector in 1704. Called "Thomas Wright, Sen." of Wethersfield, his estate inventory was taken May 1, 1711 by Joseph Wright (his uncle) and William Burnham amounting to £300-16-00. His verbal Will made the night before he died gave his estate to his immediate family relatives: to his Sister Mary Belding his house & homelot; to his sister Lydia Crane; to the children of his brother-in-law David Goodrich, viz, to Eleazer, David, Elizabeth and Abigail Goodrich; to Silas the son of his brother-in-law Jonathan Belding; and the remainder to his sister Mary wife of Jonathan Belding and to his sister Lydia Crane. On June 4, 1711 the will was accepted by the heirs and administration granted to his two brother-in-laws David Goodrich and Jonathan Belding, with Capt. David Goodrich appointed guardian of three of his own children due to their legacies from Thomas.
The claim in Alvan Talcott's 1882 published (short-title) "William Chittenden of Guilford, Conn." that the above Thomas Wright 3rd (Thomas,2, Thomas1) of Wethersfield married at 12 years of age then 23 year old Sarah Benton of Guilford on Dec. 9, 1673 in Guilford is bogus genealogy. The Guilford town records do say Sarah Benton married a Thomas Wright on the aforementioned date, but the latter Thomas Wright died of record in Guilford Dec. 6, 1692 and his widow Sarah d. 19 days later on Dec. 25, 1692. The origins of Thomas Wright, husband of Sarah Benton, have never been uncovered.

Thomas has no known gravestone and is not included in Tillotson's 1899 inventory of then standing or readable gravestones in greater Wethersfield (Wethersfield Village, Rocky Hill, Newington and Glastonbury.) He is otherwise assumed to be interred in Wethersfield Village Cemetery, the only cemetery in Wethersfield at the time of his death.
