Carlin Eugene Bush, 71, of St. Joseph, MO passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 12, 1946 in Savannah, MO to George and Lois (Carr) Bush. He married Glenda Lee Nold on July 23, 1971 at Long Branch Christian Church, and she survives of the home.

Carlin loved his family and church family. He preached at Long Branch Christian Church for many years. He never met a stranger, and as an over the road truck driver, he knew people all over the country. He also spent time with his wife at the family’s quilt shop, Glenda’s Sewing Cupboard. He loved playing in the mountains, working with horses, and fishing for trout. Carlin proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a U.S. Navy Seabee.

He is survived by his wife, daughters, Angela Bush and Melissa Bush of St. Joseph, and Jamie and Curt Porter of Garnett, KS; eight grandchildren: Jeremiah and Nathaniel Bush, Emma, Ryland, Walker, Isaak, Noah, and Zander Porter; two sisters, Linda Bush of Savannah and Diane Baker of KCMO; numerous family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, December 27th at 10 AM at Long Branch Christian Church Savannah, MO. Burial will follow at the church’s cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 26th, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Memorial donations may be made to Long Branch Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO.
