Edward Platt, 88, Margaretville, died Monday noon at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Margaretville Methodist Church, with Rev. Kenneth Truran, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill cemetery.
A native of Big Indian, Mr. Platt was born Sept. 13, 1974, the son of Charles and Harriett Taylor Platt. He married Florence Lutz. Mr. Platt was a carpenter.
Surviving beside his wife are a daughter, Mrs. James Hendricks, Margaretville; five sons, Clarence Platt and Everett Platt, Margaretville; Joseph Platt, Oneonta; James Platt, Phoenicia; Frederick Platt Durhamville, several nieces and nephews; 14 grand- children, 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great- grandchildren.
