Salina, Utah - Ronnie J. Torgerson, age 70, passed away December 18, 2017 at his home in Salina. He was born May 19, 1947 in Salina, a son of Sidney Voyle and Lois Elizabeth Gates Torgerson. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1965. After graduation, he served his country in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He then attended the Denver Automotive and Diesel School, where he studied diesel mechanics.

He married Glenda Sue Fulton, April 15, 1972 in Idaho Springs, Colorado. They were later divorced.

Ronnie was a member of the LDS Church and an active member of the Salina American Legion Post #36. He worked for SUFCO as a mechanic in the coal mine. Ronnie enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and working on automotives. He will be greatly missed.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Justin and his wife, Stella Torgerson of Centerfield; grandchildren: Shaellee and Sheldon Chapple of Nephi; Chevi Todd Torgerson, Allison Ashley Torgerson and Caitlan Hope Sidwell, all of Hurricane; JoBerta L. Torgerson of Centerfield; brothers and sister: Terry and Brenda Torgerson, Cathy Torgerson, Jim and Collette Torgerson, all of Salina; Bob Young of Riverton, Wyoming; Shirley Shaw of Koosharem; RaNae Phillips of Springville.

He was preceded in death by a son, Todd Jacob Torgerson; his parents; brothers and sisters: Lee E. Torgerson, Jane Young, Shirlene and Wayne Rogers, Bryce K. Torgerson, Deon Torgerson, Dolan Torgerson, Darr Phillips and Mona Torgerson.

Graveside services will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12 Noon in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.

Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
