A Celebration of Life Service for Bro. Timothy David Alvis, 54 of Michie, TN is set for Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Military Honors.

Burial will be in the Searcy/Odle Cemetery, Rienzi, Alcorn County, MS.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 5-9 pm and Thursday, December 21, 2017, from 10:00 am until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home.

Bro. Tim passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at his home in Michie, McNairy County, TN.

He was born August 6, 1963, in Cullman, AL, to Jack Virgil Alvis and Alla Bea (Burks) Alvis.

Bro. Tim was the Pastor of Grace Community Church; Director of Bread of Life Food Ministry.

He was also, a Certified Discipleship Training Minister through the Evangelism Explosion International Program.

Bro. Tim graduated with honors from Liberty University, Wilmington School of the Bible in Theology and Biblical Studies.

Bro. Tim loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ

He was a retired truck driver, and a U. S. Army Veteran.

He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Amy A. Alvis of Michie, TN, with whom he shared a lifetime of love in the six years they were married; his sons, Timothy David "T.J." Alvis, Jr. of Rienzi, MS, Jud Olszowka and wife Angela of Cullman, AL and Isaac Andrews and wife Lauren of Jackson, TN; his daughters, Haven Rain Alvis of Rienzi, MS and Mikaela Pleasant and husband Cory of Corinth, MS; 6 grandchildren, Dax Olszowka, Grayson Olszowka, Tilly Olszowka, Rylan Pleasant, Kariss Pleasant and Mia Lee Pleasant; his brothers: L. J. Alvis and wife Ainslie of Decatur, AL and Jimmy Alvis and wife Betty of Vinemont, AL; sisters, Betty Freeman of Decatur, AL and Margaret Brown and husband Johnny of Cullman, AL; sisters-in-law: Lorraine Alvis of Huntsville, AL and Betty Alvis of Trinity, AL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Virgil Alvis and Alla Bea (Burks) Alvis; brothers, Carl F. Alvis, Charles E. Alvis, and E. Leon Alvis; sister, Carolyn A. Alvis; and brother-in-law, Elmus Freeman.

Pallbearers will be Isaac Andrews, Cory Pleasant, Daniel Melson, Jerry Climer, Rusty Askew, Kaynon Jones, John Larson and Mike McClintock.

Bro. Mike McClintock, Bro. Kenny Digby, and Bro. Warren Jones will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideons International.
