Peter is the son of Adam and Barbara (Eschleman) Anglemyer. He married Susanna "Susan" Nicolaus, daughter of Daniel and Anna Catharina (Beischer/Britscher) Nicolas on 11 Apr 1803 at the First United Church of Christ, Easton, Northampton Co., PA. They were the parents of seven children:
Samuel - b. 05 Feb 1804; d. 10 Oct 1825
Johannes "John" - b. 24 Jul 1805; d. 12 Aug 1874
Catharina - b. 16 Sep 1807; d. 20 Mar 1875
Emanuel - b. 19 Jun 1810; d. 17 Sep 1882
