Russell L. Badtke, age 84, of Union Grove, WI, passed away Wednesday morning, December 20, 2017 at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home-Boland Hall in Union Grove, WI. Russell Lawrence Badtke was born on January 22, 19323 in Kenosha County, WI, the son of the late Frederick and Agnes Woller Badtke. On April 16, 1955, Russell was united in marriage to Edith Gillmore. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2001. He lived in Wilmot, WI and Silver Lake, WI before moving to Union Grove, WI. Russell served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from February 17, 1953 until discharge on February 2, 1955. He served with the Co G 5th Calvary. Russell owned and operated the Wilmot Café from 1976 until 1995. He continued working at the Café for several years after 1995. He also worked in the grocery department at Walmart in Lake Geneva, WI. Russell enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening and baking. He also loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by: 2 sons, Mark (Donna) Badtke of Genoa City, wI and Thomas (Marcie) Badtke of Wilmot, WI; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Lindsey) Badtke, Colleen (Sean) Walker, Genesee (Pat) Albers and Marshall Badtke; 9 great grandchildren, Hailey, Penny, Elena and Tobias Badtke, Benjamin, Seth and Gabriel Walker and Caius and Micah Albers; 1 brother, Eugene Badtke of Paris Township, wI and 1 sister, Doris Krogh of Wisconsin Dells, WI. The Badtke Family will receive friends from 9:00AM Friday Dec. 22, 2017 until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00AM at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. Interment with Military Honors will be in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha, WI.
