A Celebration of Life service for June Blacksmith, 70, who passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 15 at the Indianola First United Methodist Church.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church.
June was a proud grandma and truly loved spending time with her four grandchildren.
She was frequently at soccer, football, and basketball games cheering on her grandchildren.
She fostered a love of sports in her grandchildren.
June herself was a tenacious basketball player at Spickard High School. Her team had an amazing 56 game winning streak during her high school career.

Gordon and June married on August 19, 1967 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
She loved spending time with family and friends.
Over the past few years, they enjoyed many fun vacations to Maine, Florida, Colorado, Wyoming, and to St. Louis to watch their favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon; daughters, Jayna (Douglas) Eichholz and Paula (Sam) Woleben; grandchildren, Jack and Mary-Clare Eichholz and Caleb and Charlie Woleben; siblings, Jo Adams, Betty Kincade, Glenn Tharp, Caroline Wendt and Kay Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ethel Tharp, siblings, Jack Tharp, Shirley Keith, Louise Stephens, Bill Tharp and Nina Persell.
