Following a four-year illness, Ernest P. Dehner, 78, of 424 Liberty Street, Franklin, died in Franklin Hospital at 1:30 pm Monday. He was born in Lichenville, PA (Lickingville), Sept. 3, 1876, son of John and Catherine Sigworth Dehner.

He lived the early part of his life in Strattanville and came to Oil City 30 years ago. He followed the carpentry trade most of his life.

He married Rachel Perry in 1945, and she survives, with children by a former marriage, Sherrill Dehner of Plumer, Vaughn Dehner of Oil City, and Mrs. William Wonsettler of Bradford; step-children, Mrs. Grant Douglas of Oak Ridge, TN, Dorothy Stover of Youngstown, OH, and Robert Perry of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
