Fort Worth, Texas – Alyce Elizabeth McMonigle, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at home, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was 93.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas, with interment to follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation is from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19th, at the funeral home.

Mrs. McMonigle was born April 8, 1924, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Henry and Vera Cowan. She spent her youth in Kansas City, Kansas, where she took dance from Arthur Murray's sister. She attended Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri.

On February 16, 1943, she married Dennis Raymond McMonigle of Marland, Oklahoma, and they enjoyed the military life of living around the world with their five children. Alyce made some of her favorite memories in the Philippine Islands; Biloxi, Mississippi; Morocco, Africa; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They retired and made their permanent residence of over 50 years at their beloved home on five acres in Fort Worth, Texas. They were married 62 years.

Alyce was a wonderful mother and homemaker and enjoyed working outside the home in real estate and retail. She enjoyed people and never knew a stranger, striking up conversations everywhere she went. Her hobbies were ceramics, golfing, bowling, garage and estate sales, and weekly trips to the dollar store. She had a green thumb and always had beautiful green plants in her home. Throughout her life, Alyce enjoyed various animals, such as rabbits, a monkey, parakeets, peacocks, donkeys, horses, pigs, cats, dogs, and many others. Her last dog, B.J., was at her side when she passed away peacefully in her home.

Alyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dennis, her brother, Calvin Cowan, and her sister, Nancy Stilfield.
