Alan F. Kolarik, age 71, a Naperville, IL resident since 1986, formerly of Brookfield and Warrenville, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born October 9, 1946 in Oak Park, IL.
Beloved husband of Sandra S. Kolarik (nee Simak), whom he married September 18, 1971, loving father of Melissa A. Kolarik of Plainfield, IL, David A. (Mandie) Kolarik of Plano, IL, Laura A. Kolarik of Naperville and Amy L. Kolarik of Crest Hill, IL, adored grandfather of Alexandra and Levi Kolarik, devoted son of the late Alexander and Anne Kolarik, dear brother of Carole (Mike) Tinsley of Plano, TX.
Alan grew up in Brookfield, IL, attended Riverside Brookfield High School, Riverside, IL and served as a Radio Teletype Operator with the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart medal. He worked as an auto mechanic for many years, most recently with the U.S. Post Office, Naperville and Aurora, IL, retiring in 2008. Alan was a former Scout leader, was talented with his hands and enjoyed working on cars, making models and building things.
