Anna Sue Armstrong, 87, of Bartlesville, passed away at home on Friday, December 15, 2017. She was born in Bradley, Oklahoma on December 25, 1929 the daughter of Tom G. Hawkins and Clara (Norville) Hawkins.
She completed her education in Ponca City, Oklahoma, graduating in 1947. She married Bill Armstrong and they moved to the Hulah, Oklahoma area in 1954. They farmed and ranched for 47 years. They moved to Copan area in 1999 until she sold their home and moved to Bartlesville in 2017. She was a homemaker for 20 years and worked out of the home for 38 years. She did mostly secretarial work and retired from Caney Valley Conservation District in 2006. She was active in the Home Demonstration Club in Ponca City and Copan, was a 4-H leader in Bowring, VFW Ladies Auxilary and Order of Eastern Star. She received an Associates college degree in 1993 while working full time. She attended the Tyro Methodist Church.
Mrs. Armstrong is survived by three children, Billie Hand and husband, Smokey of Ramona, Neal Armstrong and Jenny Miller of rural Pawhuska and Bart Armstrong of Peru, Kansas, three grandchildren, Shane Hand and wife Christina, Kristin Hudson and husband Clinton, JoEllen Smith and fiancé Jared Long, six great grandchildren, Bella and Jaxon Hand, Maddy, Korbin, Baylee Hudson, and Grady Smith and Gus Long.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, one sister, Novell, brothers, Boots, Dean and Bob.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Ramona Cemetery.
