Rommie Lee "Pete" Brewer, 81, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after a long and happy life.

He was born September 7, 1936, in Grapevine, Arkansas, and grew up in Sheridan, Arkansas. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1954.

The love of Pete's life, Roberta May "Bobbie" Adair, glided by him in a roller-skating rink that year and captured his heart. They married in 1955. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, then he and Bobbie returned to Arkansas, where they raised two sons. They were married for 62 years until his death.

Pete worked in lumber mills most of his adult life, including several years as plant manager at W.S. Fox and Sons in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

He was loyal to the Arkansas Razorbacks. He enjoyed nothing more than a good day of fishing.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Gladys Hearnsberger of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and his stepfather, Robert H. Adair of Little Rock. He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie, of Hot Springs; sons David Brewer (and wife Jan) of Hot Springs and Steve Brewer (and wife Kelly) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandsons Max Brewer of Seattle and Seth Brewer of Albuquerque, and a host of family, friends and admirers.
